The Courtenay and District Fish and Game Protective Association
2017 Indoor League
The Archery Venue has something for everyone with enough variety to keep your interest and skills strong. We have a field range with target butts from 10 to 70 yards, a three kilometre trail with a variety of 3D targets. There is our field house and the Old Archers Cabin complete with a wood stove to warm up on chilly winter days. Not only all that, the venue is home to the world’s longest long bow, proudly displayed on the road up to the range.
We have over a hundred members participating on a regular basis with everything from traditional long bows, recurve bows and compounds. Our members range from recreational target shooters who enjoy testing themselves on the trails, to hunters honing their skills. We have monthly meetings and publish our newsletter, The Quiver, on a monthly basis to keep our members informed and involved.
We hold an open invitational 3-D Shoot every spring and a women’s 3-D shoot in the fall. This year, 2017, we again hosted the North America Longbow Safari with archers from Whitehorse to the Bahamas.
The Archery Group offers an OPEN HOUSE on the first Sunday of every month from
11:00 to 2:00 (except for June )
Families and the general public can come out to learn about the sport and get some hands on experience in this exciting and rewarding outdoor sport. A variety of bows, arrows, and necessary safety equipment are available, plus some of our Archers will be there to give you some pointers.
The OPEN HOUSE is a FREE event. Please come out and give archery a try – it is a great family sport.
