The B.C. Wildlife Federation presents the BCWF Learn to Hunt Academy!

The BCWF Learn to Hunt Academy is an immersive hunter education program that will help you gain the practical skills, knowledge, and confidence to be a safe and successful hunter in BC. Whether you’re brand new to hunting or looking to further develop your hunter competencies, this workshop provides the opportunity to learn hands-on skills from local experts.

Participants will spend 2 days learning what to do before they go hunting (BC regulations, navigation, e-scouting, and more), how to plan and execute their hunt (scouting on location, setting up your firearm, shooting, shot placement, hunting strategies), and how to properly care for a harvested an animal (field dressing a big game animal, butchering, meat care).

Come learn in a safe, non-judgmental environment and add to your skill set, as well as meet like-minded individuals. You could even meet your new hunting partner!

The Learn to Hunt & Fish Series takes you on a thrilling adventure through workshops with qualified instructors. Gain the confidence to explore the great outdoors and enjoy all that British Columbia has to offer. Whether it’s learning essential survival skills or mastering the art of fishing, these workshops provide a platform for you to learn, grow, and connect with like-minded individuals. Participants under the age of 19 can register providing their accompanying adult or guardian is registered as well.

***PLEASE NOTE***

Participants will be required to provide their own transportation to and from the event location. Onsite, unserviced,  lakefront camping is available. Coin Op Showers are available onsite.

Participants will be required to provide their own food, water, and snacks required for the duration of the event.

 

By accepting the event waiver, you accept all of the terms listed below.

19 Years of Age or Older, or is registering with a responsible adult who is 19 Years of Age or Older

The participant attests that they are 19 years of age or older and by agreeing, recognizes that the program involves some risk and that they take responsibility for any action or injury that may result by participating.

OR

That the participant is under the age of 19 years of age and by agreeing must register with a responsible adult who is of 19 years of age or older (parent or guardian) who recognizes that the program involves some risk and that they take responsibility for any action or injury that may result by participating.

Public Information Protection Act

The B.C. Wildlife Federation (BCWF) complies with the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).  The information you provide to BCWF when you register for courses enter into a contract is collected under the authority of the PIPA.  It will be used to facilitate your registration, course planning communication, certification, and to remain in contact with you after the course in order to 1) provide mentorship, 2) allow you to stay in contact with course participants/instructors, and 3) comply with our funding partner(s’) requirements for participant follow-up.  This information will also be used to administer and market BCWF education programs in accordance with these legislations. By accepting, you hereby give consent to the collection of personal information and use as described above.

Release, Indemnity and Waiver of Liability

In consideration of being accepted as a participant/contractor in the BCWF Learn to Hunt Academy, by accepting, I do hereby RELEASE, WAIVE and forever DISCHARGE, any and all rights and claims for damages, costs, expenses, suit, causes of actions, of any nature or kind whatsoever, that I may have at any time against the B.C. Wildlife Federation, associated program partners, financial supporters, and/or landowner(s), whether or not arising by reason of act, omission, imprudence, lack of skill or error of judgement by any one or more of the aforementioned, for any personal injury, debt, property damage or loss sustained by me as a result of my being a participant/contractor in the course, including but not limited to, my use of the lands owned by the Landowner(s) during the course.
